Framed Perfume Labels

I found these "vintage French perfume label" art pieces at the flea market a few weeks ago.  I am happy to report they sold immediately.  The dealer claimed they were "real" vintage perfume labels.  I will give him the benefit of the doubt since he is a guy and
the label on the back does say they are vintage.  Just please realize that just because some of these flea market dealers tell you something is the real deal, it may not be unless, of course, you know they specialize in a particular area and they know their stuff.

 I photographed these on a piece of burlap so you could see the glass was clear.  My burlap unfortunately is impossible to press out, but I'm sure you can see the beautiful effect this type of framing gives off.  Coincidentally right about the time I found these, Carol at The Polka Dot Closet did a post on how to do these.  If you want to see her labels and her tutorial, click here Waterslide Decal Pictures.  Carol makes her own decals and you can buy them in her shop.

I love French perfume labels.  The Graphics Fairy has shared several on her blog if you want to print some of hers to try this type of project.  Just do a search for French Perfume labels and see what goodies you can find.

I found four of these together and priced them at $12 each.  They sold immediately.

Now see the label that appeared on the back of every one of these.   Made in China on the label definitely screams reproduction.  So does the bar code.  The dealer I bought them from is very nice and is a regular at one of my favorite fleas.  He does not, however, specialize in girlie things.  More like tractor parts and primitives.

 Just for your viewing pleasure, I'm including a couple of plaques I have come across in my travels.  This next one is my favorite. 

 This next one is a metal plaque.  I think it would be fun attached to a bathroom cabinet drawer.
