Magazine Rack in Pastels and Roses

I've been experimenting with watered down paints to create a washy water color effect on my latest projects.  For this sweet little project I used three different colors and layered, layered, and layered some more.
I always use the reverse mod podge method to apply my images because they come out a little more vintage looking and look more hand painted, but this image could be easily mod podged in the usual way.
To give it a more European flavor, I used my antique gold paint on the trim and stencil.  Here is the link to the image which can be found on my Pinterest art board.

Thanks for your visit.

This is just gorgeous, Maggie! What a great shape to work with and I love the paint color and image. It has such a romantic look to it. I think this would fit into my bedroom quite nicely. : )

This is beautiful! What is the reversed mod podge? Dumb question, I know.

It looks as though the magazine rack was made to be covered in roses! I have an old clock that would be gorgeous transformed with this technique.....someday. You are a master at reverse transfer and the subtle addition of paint makes it look like a hand painted heirloom. Very nice, Maggie!

Wow, it's gorgeous, Maggie! I love the roses, they really do look hand painted! And the stenciling you added makes it look like a European antique. Love it!!
