Typewriter Stand To Adorable Tea Table

A couple of weeks ago I found a rusty typewriter stand that was missing a top.  I've had in mind for a while to have my husband do some plank style table tops for me so I brought this one home.  This project is literally a marriage of found objects.
Here is my rusty dusty typewriter stand.
Here is my "Made in China" tray found at a yard sale a few months back.  I set this on the patio table in the sun while I was showing my husband the little stand it was going to sit on and 20 minutes later the top layer of paint was lifted and peeling off.  Pretty scary, huh?  I ditched the plank style table top idea when I remembered this wonderful tray.
I thoroughly sanded the tray top and then painted it with heirloom white.  I needed something with a primer in it to seal the tray.  I didn't put a design on the tray top because I thought it was adorable all by itself.  Four little screws are holding it on the stand.
Great detail.  I love the scalloped edge and the little peep holes.
These two pieces of junque treasures were made for each other.  The scale is perfect.
Thanks for stopping by.  My daughter was visiting with my new grandson this past week.  I have lots of projects started but nothing finished.  I hope to be sharing more very soon.

I have that same scallop tray but mine was already white also found at a garage sale. Under mine are legs that pull out and raises the tray to put in on the bed and over a lap for someone in bed. I really like your new repurposed table.

How pretty! You always know just what to do! The tray kind of reminds me of lace with its pierced scalloped edge. Nice job girl!

What a charming table! I have an old typwriter stand that is taking up space in my craft room. I've just never settled on the perfect new top. You're an inspiration. I'm sharing your sweet project on my Once Upon a Firefly FB page.

This turned out great, Maggie! I have that same tray {it was already an Heirloom White type color}. I love it, too, with it's scallops. You've made it perfect for an afternoon tea!
