The treadle base was a low one, not the table top height that you normally find.
We painted it white, refinished the dresser top and to make it a little bit taller, my husband added a one-inch piece of plywood between the two parts, screwed it all together and there you have it.
Thanks so much for dropping by.

See you soon!
What a great size for a coffee table. I would like to here the story of why the base is so short.
That's a gorgeous coffee table Maggie - I've never seen a " base " that low but what a lucky find actually!
Beautiful job!
Have a great weekend!

Love it! A good repurposing is definitely the best kind of project and I love what you did with this one.
I've never seen a base that low either so let's ponder that....you live in Calif....Hollywood is in Calif.....The Wizard of Oz was filmed in Hollywood......there were munchkins in The Wizard of Oz......it's a sewing machine for a munchkin....see, easy....
I love it- It turned out great. I still have my Gramma's old sewing machine-xo Diana
Gotta love the easy ones! THey don't come along often enough.
Very unique and clever transformation. I love it!

I love it as a coffee table. I see so many used as side tables, but this is fabulous!
Wow love it. You really did a wonderful job on that. It looks so good as a coffee table. I would have never thought to do that.
Thanks so much for sharing.
