The French Connection

Have you ever fallen in love with an inanimate object, something that was totally silly and didn't make sense?  Well, that's what happened when I found this board at the salvage yard.  It was a six foot long 1x12 board that someone had painted a beautiful pale green color.  It's almost like a wood stain that penetrated the board and when the paint started flaking you could see the green stain underneath.  I was determined to keep the board intact and do something wonderful with it.

Since I'm selling at the Little French Flea Market in Tarzana in two weeks, I thought it would be fun to paint the words The Little French Flea Market on it or some combination of those words, but they just wouldn't fit.
So after I painted the words The French I decided on finishing it as The French Connection.  Then because I wanted to really make this more than just a board, I also found some used molding at the salvage yard and asked my husband to frame the sign to make it a little more professional looking.   I think this is my favorite sign to date.  I couldn't wait to finish it so I could get it into the shop.  I really appreciate your visits so thanks for stopping by.

By the way, does anyone know what's happening with Google?  I heard they're making some changes this summer.

OMG another PERFECT sign, you are such a pro. A few weeks everyone was saying that google friends connect was going away, but I have searched and don't see anywhere that it is really going to happen. One blogger that said it apologized and said maybe she spoke to soon. then someone else said that our blog roll on our dashboard was going away and we should all go to blog lovin, I can't find that either. So, if you read anything concrete I would love to know! I can't find a thing in writing!

You always do such a great job on signs. I love the green and I love the trim you used. Regarding the google reader, I'm beginning to think that bloglovin might have started the rumor. I would miss the feed that shows my friend's posts on my dashboard as soon as they are posted. Hoping that nothing changes.

I love your sign and I love the addition of the molding! I'm trying to pin it... I jumped onto Google+ (I'm blogger)because of the supposed upcoming changes and I am now experiencing LOTS of problems. Now I can't say that it's really that, but it all started then. I can't pin on some sites and I've lost the pin it on my toolbar and the pin it on right clicking my mouse...anybody have any suggestions or tips????

I love it, what a great idea to frame it! Rumor has it Google Reader is going away and not GFC. I've added Bloglovin and actually like it better.

Lovely sign.

I had several April Fools jokes played on me including Google Analytics space station joke - so I would hold off on worrying for a little while. Seems there were a lot of bored people on the 1st.

Great looking sign.

Think the molding around the sign really gives it the dignity is deserves. You always do everything with such panache, and talent mostly. I sure do envy you your talent. Happy Week

This is beautiful! You are talented for sure! I heard about GFC but I guess you always have to be ready for changes. I started bloglovin just in case.
Thanks for your support and saying hi.

Hi Maggie,
WOW what a beauty and perfect sign. You are amazing. I just love it. The color is awesome too.

I read somewhere in the blogspot info that google reader was ending in July. Well, mine has not worked on my dashboard since last July so I guess I won't miss it. I did sign up for bloglovin and so far, that is working okay with other bloggers following when they see my sign up on my blog and they have it too.
Bloglovin does not appear on the dashboard though and it is a separate link all together, but when you sign up you can elect to have your google reader list imported to bloglovin so you can then see who you are following from google reader. I did that and now I can find the blogs again that I am following.
This is probably no help but it is what I found out so far.

Hugs, CM
