French Tables Gone Postal

First I want to say these are not my tables.  They were re-invented by my friend Pat and she is also the owner of the store I am a dealer in, Aubergine Emporium.  I just had to share them with you.  Old letters and post marks are very popular these days and these totally fit the bill.  When I say she revamped these tables, that is an understatement.  They had glass tops that were oozing with gold gobly-gook all over the glass.  Not sure what you call that, and the sides were a vintage Frenchy yellow with heavy gold trim.  I would venture to say they hailed from the 1960s.  Boy that makes me feel ancient since I can remember the 60s very well.  I love old gold on vintage and French antiques, but this was over the top gawdy.  She painted them white and stripped the gold whatchamacallit stuff off the glass tops.  Another friend of ours brought in some old letters and envelopes that the girls photocopied and the result is incredible.  What a difference a can of paint and a copy machine can make.
Pat photocopied the envelopes in black and white and laid the copies underneath the glass.  Aren't these wonderful?  They won't last long, that's for sure.  They are already on hold.  Sorry about the glare from the lighting. They are in the Valentine's window.  This is creativity at its best if you ask me.  Too bad I don't have a before picture to show you, but I think you can get a visual image from my description.
Here is a little closer look.  Tres chic!!!
