Dyed Coffee Filters

I have seen an awful lot of coffee filter flowers through Blogland lately including my own projects.  I saw a fabulous wreath on a link party the other day that had the dyed coffee filter roses so I decided to attempt to color some of my own.  Mind you, I have not done a project with them yet and this was just a cursory attempt to see if they would take color and guess what?  The did.  I used food coloring.  I think for spring the colors will be great.  Adjust your color by how much water you add.  These were colored with one drop (yes, only one) to a third of a cup of water.  I think I will go more pale when I do an actual project.  Below I laid them next to a gauzy scarf I picked up at a yard sale today.  They fit right in with the color tones of the scarf.  Can't wait to try this for real.

When my daughters were little we made tie dyed coffee filters and used clothes pins and pipe cleaners and they became butterflies. Bet that craft could be updated a bit!

I think I am the last person to do a coffee filter project, it is on my list of todo's! I didn't know you could dye them! Oh I see a pink wreath in my future! Oh, I love my paint sprayer, I used it again yesterday and fall more in love with it with each use!!
