Here is my rusty dusty typewriter stand.
Here is my "Made in China" tray found at a yard sale a few months back. I set this on the patio table in the sun while I was showing my husband the little stand it was going to sit on and 20 minutes later the top layer of paint was lifted and peeling off. Pretty scary, huh? I ditched the plank style table top idea when I remembered this wonderful tray.
I thoroughly sanded the tray top and then painted it with heirloom white. I needed something with a primer in it to seal the tray. I didn't put a design on the tray top because I thought it was adorable all by itself. Four little screws are holding it on the stand.
Great detail. I love the scalloped edge and the little peep holes.

ReplyDeleteI have that same scallop tray but mine was already white also found at a garage sale. Under mine are legs that pull out and raises the tray to put in on the bed and over a lap for someone in bed. I really like your new repurposed table.
