I figure if I do one small project a day until Christmas, I will be out of small projects. Maybe that's exaggerating a bit, but I feel like I'll never get to the bottom of the pile. This was another small caddy in my stash. I love caddies. They are great for display. This one started out as plain wood and I spruced it up with a coat of red paint and added some ivory letters shaded with dark gray, and then I gave it a good sanding to bring out the primitive look.
These were my two caddies as they started out. I won't even tell you what happened to the other one. Let's just say it wasn't a banner week for my projects. Seems I must do a lot of tweaking to reach my goals, and reach them I will. Just might take an extra day or two. Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Your red caddie is charming! Love that red (my favorite color)! Thank you for sharing your inspiration and creativity at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! The rusty dog is pretty cool too!! I love red too!! =) Deanna
ReplyDeleteNow I'm inspired to work on some old wooden boxes. Yours is so pretty. Found you at Feathered Nest Friday
ReplyDeleteGreat red (I love red) box! If I could do half as much as you I'd be a happy camper! I've got a failed project staring at me right now, too. So irritating when I've got a picture in my mind that doesn't match the final product.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Maggie! The red is great and I love the wording. Is that by chance a stencil? I have got to find some nice ones with a font I like. I just saw a nice big tool caddy like this yesterday at the antique mart. I passed on it though {I would love to use it for myself}; I just don't have a place for it.
ReplyDeleteYay! Lots of us red fans posting today! The caddy looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the dog, too. Is it an English Springer Spaniel, do you know?
xoxo
Thanks so much for sharing this lovely post on Simple & Sweet Fridays. I love the red caddy!
